I have a great summer lined up this year, only one week left at college so going to knuckle down and get all my work done! After that I have a week before I head out to the European Championships in Lienz, Austria. I’m having the week up in Nottingham just getting last minute training in before I leave, just tweaking a few moves and runs before we head out.
On the 9th of June we leave to Leinz for 2 ½ weeks training on the feature before the event starts. We're lucky to have Denis come out with us - he's one of the top GB coaches and an awesome guy! He specialises in white water and freestyle coaching around the world. Our motivations are pure - to combine the inner discovery and exploration from our paddling experiences with our coaching expertise, to provide with a coaching and guiding service that’s second to none.
“Every journey of discovery is filled with challenges, successes, setbacks and joys. We aim to make your personal journey richer and more rewarding – your mission is our mission”
Lienz is located at the confluence of the rivers Isel and Drava in the Eastern Alps, between the Hohe Tauern mountain range in the north including the Schober and Kreuzeck groups, and the Gailtal Alps in the south.
A ton of big-time events have been held in Leinz - in 2010 the European Freestyle Kayaking Champs was held there, World Cup freestyle kayaking, World Champ salmon skinning and huge decathlon events, all supported by Red Bull. The freestyle kayaking European champs starts on the 24-30th of June 2012.
After I come back from the European Champs (with a medal I hope!) I have July at home with family and training in Nottingham most the time. But then I fly out on the 27th of July to see my Dad who leaves in Perth, Western Australia for a couple of weeks and catching up with all my dad's side of the family. I fly home in the 22nd and then I leave on the 23rd to the USA, I had an amazing offer from Emily Jackson to stay with the Jacksons to compete in the last 2 world cups events.

The ICF World Cup is held every two years, and the final event in this series is traditionally held at the site of the following year’s World Championships. Pro international freestyle athletes are drawn to the event not only to compete for the title of World Cup Champion, but to gain valuable training time on the feature, thus improving their potential for success in the following year.
