History Makers: Flint High’s U14s Lift the Welsh Cup! 🎉
By Daniel Herman
On May 10th, 2025, Flint High School made history when our Year 9 boys’ football team claimed the U14s Welsh Schools Cup—the first time any FHS football side has won this prestigious competition. With over 200 schools battling through knockout rounds, this victory was hard-earned and well-deserved.
From the first whistle, the boys dominated possession, pressing high and creating chance after chance. At half-time, we led Cwmbran 1-0, but the team didn’t ease up. The full-time score line read a convincing 5-1 to Flint High, with Lucas Roberts named WSFA Man of the Match after netting an incredible 4 of the 5 goals. Captain Kian Taylor led with confidence, guiding his teammates through every phase of the game.
Beyond the score, the boys’ conduct was impeccable. From arrival at school to interactions with organisers, officials, and staff, their manners and professionalism were a true credit to FHS.
A huge thank you to Bio-Synergy for supplying their award-winning Pure Energy isotonic drink. On a hot, humid day, it fuelled the warm-up and kept the team energised to maintain a high tempo for 90 minutes—refreshing and effective. Great company, amazing products!
Here’s to the history makers—your hard work, skill, and character have made Flint High proud! ⚽🏆
